BOB Financial Credit Cards

BOB Financial (trading as BOBCARD since the 2024 rebrand) is the Non-Banking Financial Company subsidiary of Bank of Baroda and the issuing entity for all BoB-branded credit cards. The lineup is narrower than the top-five private banks — three active SKUs ranging from the ₹1,000 Premier to the ₹2,499 Eterna — plus legacy BOB-branded variants still in circulation from the pre-rebrand lineup.

The architecture is single-product-family rather than a tier ladder. Eterna and Premier share the same 5X accelerated-earn mechanic; the differences are fee, the number of accelerated categories and the absence of a Visa Infinite tier. There is no house travel flagship comparable to Atlas or Infinia, and the co-brand bench (largely IndianOil-branded Easy, Select and Premier variants plus a handful of institutional cards) is thin by private-bank standards.

BOB Reward Points redeem at a flat ₹0.25 per point as statement credit or gift vouchers through the BOBCARD rewards portal — lower than the ₹0.50–₹1.00 achievable on HDFC SmartBuy or ICICI iShop, and with no comparable travel-booking multiplier. The effective cashback rate on Eterna within the 5,000-point monthly cap works out to roughly 3.75% on accelerated categories and 0.75% on base spend.

The January 2025 tariff revision tightened excluded MCCs across the lineup — wallet loads, rent and utility variants now earn zero on Premier and Eterna alike. Anyone evaluating these cards should price against the ₹5,000-point monthly accelerated cap first: at ₹1 lakh/month of category spend the cap binds, and incremental spend earns only the 0.75% base rate.
